Medieval House - Breakdown

https://gamesartist.co.uk/medieval-forest-house
In this project I breakdown my recent project : https://www.artstation.com/artwork/vbOnDE , created at Sierra Division Academy, with my mentor Alex Beddows.
I added some shots and a bit of text giving a bit more insight into how this project was created. For this project it was not my intention to "reinvent the wheel" but rather to create a visually stunning piece, with workflows and pipelines that have already proven to be quick and good. I used a lot of tiling textures, combined with RGBA-Masks, and an advanced UE5 shader setup. This gave me all the art direct-ability I wanted without having to uniquely texture assets.
Combining modularity with high quality materials was the goal here, I wanted a piece I could be happy with.

Hero shot

Detail shot - I spent a lot of time refining this, making sure my macro read is good before I go on to details and color.

Hero Shot - Snow
Most of the heavy lifting is done by Ultra Dynamic Sky, I created a shader with Z-up blending to refine the snow look, together with some foliage work I managed to make it look cozy and coherent.

Modular Kit - As you can see I tried to work very modular, keeping unique parts to a minimum, This was a core point I wanted to practice in this project, keeping production time fast.

I used PLA's ( Packed Level Actors ) to combine my very modular assets into managable modules inside Unreal Engine 5, This also instances the meshes for a little extra performance boost.
